Antenatal Clinics
The practice offers antenatal and postnatal care. Please ask our receptionists for timings.
Baby Clinics
The doctors and health visitor run baby clinics for child health surveillance and immunising your children and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems.
Minor Surgery Clinics
Certain surgical procedures can be performed by the doctors in the surgery. If you wish to have a minor surgical procedure, eg removal of warts and skin tags, please make a routine appointment with the doctor first for assessment.
Health Promotion Clinic
Our Health Care Assistants is available by appointment for advice on smoking, weight control and help towards achieving a healthy lifestyle.
Cervical Smear and Chlamydia Screening
Cancer of the cervix can be prevented and all female patients between the ages of 25 and 64 are advised to have regular smear tests with our practice nurses. We also perform screening for Chlamydia for patients who are sexually active.
Smoking Cessation Advice
The practice offers support for those patients trying to quit smoking. Our nurses are trained to give smoking cessation counselling and offer nicotine replacement therapy. An appointment may be booked at reception.
Counselling Service
Patients wishing to be referred to our counsellors should consult with the doctor in the first instance. Patients should be aware that they may have to commit themselves to weekly counselling sessions at the surgery during working hours.
Travel Immunisations and Vaccinations
Please make an appointment to see our nurses at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS.
We are an appointed yellow fever vaccination centre.
Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients over 65 and those with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, and residents of nursing homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. Please note the flu vaccination cannot give you the flu.
Pneumonia vaccinations are available all year for the same category of patients. One pneumonia vaccination will provide lifetime cover.
Other In-House Services
We have a phlebotomist who comes on Wednesday mornings at our Mitcham surgery thus saving you a trip to the hospital if you require blood tests.The practice also has a physiotherapist at our Mitcham Practice. Referral is via a doctor only.
Non-NHS Services
Certain services such as private sick notes, insurance claim forms, passport applications and some medical examinations are not covered by the NHS, and charges are made in line with BMA recommendations. The doctors also perform medical examinations for insurance, employment, driving licences, etc. Prices can be obtained from reception.
